BIOANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY AND PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS

MASTER | FULL TIME
Analytical science is becoming increasingly significant: Fast and precise analytical methods are more important than ever in research, quality control, and production monitoring. At Hochschule Fresenius, you can study Bioanalytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis (M.Sc.) in just two full-time semesters. Gain professional knowledge of modern analytical methods and the correct classification of the results these methods deliver.

YOUR STUDY PROGRAM IN DETAIL
Establishing rapid and efficient analysis is both a great challenge and vital for the industry. In the Master’s study program in Bioanalytical chemistry and pharmaceutical analysis (M.Sc.), we will set you on the right path and give you the skills you need.

Study content

In the Master’s program, we focus on the various analytical methods and work with you to establish which methods are best suited to specific tasks. We don’t just take measurements. We also ask questions and use the answers to develop the best solutions.

As well as studying analytical methods, you will learn about the key legal requirements that play a major role in the development, registration, production, and distribution of medicinal products. You will also spend plenty of time on quality assurance – precision is key for analytical methods, requiring a keen awareness of quality. Fascinating lectures will also provide insights into the world of proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides and their importance in physiological processes.

Practical Relevance

In the Master’s study program Bioanalytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis (M.Sc.), we offer practical teaching by lecturers who have professional experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and know the needs of the market. This Master’s program has a strong focus on application, and you will spend a great deal of time in our state-of-the-art laboratories. There, you will work independently on various projects and gain experience by working with modern analytical devices. The study program is rounded off by case studies and excursions to companies in the pharmaceutical and bioanalysis industry with integrated workshops. This helps you find not only a suitable topic, but also potential corporate partners for your final Master’s thesis.

The program has an international feel from the outset and all content is taught in English, providing you with yet another advantage.

CAREER PROSPECTS WITH YOUR STUDY PROGRAM
Having analyzed molecules and examined biological processes, as a graduate of the Master’s study program in Bioanalytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis (M.Sc.), you have a wide range of potential careers.

Career

Your newly acquired ability to understand the entire analytical process will make you a sought-after expert in many fields – for example with companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, biotech companies, public authorities, analysis and research institutes, and manufacturers of analytical devices. After your successful graduation, your potential roles include:

  • Research assistant/head of research at a private company (after completing a doctorate)
  • Product and sales expert for analytical devices
  • Project manager
  • Quality control manager at a private company
  • Researcher of fundamental science at a public institute
  • Member of staff/director at a regulatory
